MOSCOW (AP) -- Four more people froze to death in Moscow over the past week, bringing the number of deaths from hypothermia so far this winter in the capital to 82, a news agency reported Monday. An additional 158 people were hospitalized with problems resulting from the cold, including 37 who had frostbite, the Interfax news agency said.

Each year, hundreds of people die in Russia from the cold. They are mostly the homeless, alcoholics who fall asleep on the street at night, or elderly people living alone.
